Meet Emily Hubble!Posted by Gabby Arnaout on
We are BEYOND excited to formally announce that we are working with Emily Hubble as our newest Brand Ambassador! We wanted you guys to get to know her a little bit, so we asked her some questions.
How did you get into hiking?
I got into hiking a little over 10 years ago. My ex took me on a few hikes. Though our relationship ended (for the better), the love for hiking didn't. I slowly progressed and got more and more into it, hiking harder and longer trails. Now I love backpacking, climbing mountains and ski touring (hiking with skis on and then skiing down). Being in the mountains brings me peace and makes me present in the moment. It's what makes me crave more, that and the views of course!
Tell us about a summit you are particularly proud of.
The summit I'm most proud of this year, so far, is Mount Adams. It was my third time attempting it and this time I was on my skis. We had to start 3.6 miles from the trailhead because of snow, making our total mileage for the day 18 and about 8k feet of elevation gain and loss. Ski touring is still super new to me and brings a whole new set of challenges so making it to the summit was that much sweeter.
Where have been your favorite hiking spots so far?
Oh wow, this is hard! All over Washington? Everywhere here is amazing and beautiful, but if I had to choose, I would say anywhere in the Olympics is magical and the Alpine Lakes Wilderness.
What is your dream hiking location?
Switzerland and Norway for sure!
Tell us about your ideal day hike. What does that look like?
I love to either start super early and make it to the top for sunrise or start later in the day and make it to the top for sunset. Either way my ideal hike would include wild flowers, mountain summits, good views and even better company.
What are your other hobbies?
My other hobbies include photography, rock climbing, skiing, stand up paddle boarding, camping, and just hanging with the people (and my dog) I love most!
What is your perfect Friday night?
Perfect Friday night would be sleeping at a trailhead so I can wake up early and start hiking for the weekend first thing Saturday morning!
Dogs or cats?
Chocolate or vanilla?
Tropical vacation or snowy mountain getaway?
Oooh that's hard, probably a tropical vacation but somewhere where there are still mountains (like Hawaii).
Go to the movies or a concert?
Concert, for sure!
Finding Nemo and The Call of the Wild
Ok - last question. If you had to fight 1,000 duck-sized horses or 1 horse-sized duck, which would you choose and why?
1 horse sized duck because there is only 1, a 1000 of anything sounds terrifying!
Make sure to follow Emily on her Instagram so you don't miss out on any of her adventures!
